Mixing interculturalism and interdisciplinarity our doctoral program creates original works, published in different languages and supervised.
Our program is aimed at research students wishing to professionalize their knowledge and at professionals wishing to establish economic links with different cultures.
Research has become the center of our attention and an essential objective that must accompany the student or professional from his first year at IS-DBA.
Our 5 majors are in line with and contribute to the achievement of this objective oriented towards the professional future of the student.
Every business creation project starts with an idea.
Whether it is born of experience, know-how, creativity or a simple coincidence, the idea often takes the form of an intuition or a desire that deepens and matures with time.
The major “Research in Management and Business Creation” consists of translating into concrete, legal, financial and human terms the elements to be gathered to verify the profitability of a creation project. The different choices made concerning the nature of your product or service, the way to exploit your market and the management of your company require the development of certain skills, both technical and transversal.
The feasibility and viability of your project may depend on the existence of constraints. Depending on your project, you will have to coordinate the legal and administrative requirements (a prior operating license, a professional qualification, specific safety rules (ERP), health and safety rules, ethical rules…) with an external environment (first marketing and e-marketing strategies) and internal (human resources management and established management).
Whatever your activity, you will have to choose between declaring your activity as an individual entrepreneur, or creating a company. Then you will have to choose a legal structure adapted to your project. Any choice will have a certain number of tax, social and patrimonial consequences, which must be carefully studied.
The nature of the activity; the willingness to associate; the patrimonial organization; the financial commitment; the functioning of the company; the social regime of the entrepreneur; the tax regime of the entrepreneur and the company; the credibility of the company with respect to partners (bankers, clients, suppliers, etc.)… all these points, treated and structured by an adapted methodology, problematized, planned in detail, constitute a full-fledged research project, the first steps of a thesis for any entrepreneur.

The aim is to train technical experts using digital tools in the field of management sciences. It is mainly aimed at jobs in digital marketing, but also in computer logistics and computational finance. It can also contribute to the training of analysts in corporate strategy.
This major is mainly aimed at graduates with a degree in computer science, digital marketing, or computer science applied to management sciences who wish to extend their training in order to develop a high level of technical expertise.
The 4th Industrial Revolution is accompanied by the creation of new professions, new products, new modes of governance, and the progressive transformation of Management Sciences as they existed in the 20th century. This trend is accelerating exponentially.
New skills are required in Marketing as well as in other areas of management and business management, such as computer science applied to Management Sciences, and in particular data mining, the professional use of social networks (Wechat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Weibo), statistical and econometric analysis using computer programs.
Technological, economic and competitive intelligence is central to this major. It is not only necessary to keep abreast of technological innovations and company strategies, but also to develop an in-depth knowledge of new consumers, this generation of millenials, the prime target of digital marketing.

The modeling and risk analysis major is a course in applied mathematics and applications of mathematics aimed at deepening the technical skills needed by analysts working in the fields of logistics, finance, or corporate strategy.
Many graduates with a Master’s degree in finance, logistics, management sciences, or business management have a level of mathematical skills limited to the fundamental notions that allow the modeling of simple phenomena. Complex modeling is based on mathematical concepts that are rarely taught outside of mathematics courses. Examples include chaotic dynamics, fractal modeling, and non-frequentist probabilities.
This major is therefore at the crossroads of mathematics, economics (micro and macro) and management, operations research and geography.
Research topics include logistics, mathematical finance and corporate strategies. This specialization gives a central place to risk analysis. This is based on the collection and processing of statistical data, probability calculus, game theory, econometrics, dynamic stochastic optimization, and to some extent geopolitics, international relations, climate change, natural and industrial risks.
Finance is first presented from the works of Benoit Mandelbrot and Robert King Merton. A good understanding of contemporary issues in financial markets (crypto-currencies, machine learning, high frequency trading algorithms…) is also necessary.
Careers developement
International purchasing manager; purchasing director; risk manager; financial analyst; operational logistics manager…
The purpose of the Economic, Sustainable, Local and International Development major is to participate in the training of future managers in transnational companies, or consultants in international business, but also consultants in local and sustainable development, employees of NGOs, non-profit associations, cooperatives, and managers in local communities.
Deregulated economic globalization, in which specialization, international division of labor and free competition (according to the paradigms of classical economists) reign, is increasingly contested both by a green alter-globalization left and by an identitarian right. In many countries, this contestation leads to a return to protectionism, a desire to reduce social inequalities, a return to local cultures and productions, to local markets. However, the small local producer is still seeking to expand his market, especially internationally.
Far from political and ideological debates, the economic, sustainable, local and international environment major seeks to provide technical expertise in law (local government law, public economic law, international trade law, environmental law), economics (global economy, sustainable development economics, local development economics), and politics (international relations, regional planning, sustainable development policies).
Climate change and the limited nature of natural resources require a balance between economic performance on world markets and respect for the natural environment, territories and local cultures.
Careers developement
Public and institutional communication officer, local cultural and ecological association, local public administration officer, transnational business development officer, international negotiator
The luxury and fashion sector is, as everyone knows, a major part of France’s economy and image, and one of the few sectors that has not experienced a crisis. Paris has long been an essential part of this globalized business, like a brand.
The Luxury and Cultural Enterprise major is designed for students of all nationalities who wish to work in the luxury and fashion sector and who choose Paris as their training destination. It is part of the cultural, artistic and tourist activities. It is a sector specialization that mobilizes management science tools (marketing, communication…) in a particular field, local and artisanal tourism.
These sectors are exceptions in the normal functioning of the economy, since most of the major economic or marketing principles do not apply to these fields. The effect of price on the quantity consumed or sold is much weaker than in the food or clothing markets.
This major aims to enable students who are passionate about and knowledgeable about the luxury market to understand the marketing and sales strategies specific to these sectors, and to bring their personality and creativity to bear in order to define a solid professional project in the fields of marketing, consulting, sales management, etc.
Students enrolled in this major share an experience in international business and marketing. Their thesis is both a deepening of their skills and knowledge, a way to analyze their practice in order to improve it, but also an opportunity to exchange practical advice and share a professional network.

The training is composed of 4 teaching units per semester.
Unit 1 is a research methodology training unit.
Unit 2 is a professional specialization unit.
Unit 3 is a unit of disciplinary deepening made up of knowledge and skills that should be expected of a DBA holder in his or her field of specialization (for example, advanced mathematical models for the Finance and Risk Analysis specialization).
Unit 4 is a unit that combines professional field practice (internship, salaried employment, business creation) and individual research work (project, thesis).
The modules are divided into six semesters of 200 hours of training and 200 hours of professional practice. Each semester is sanctioned by 30 ECTS. The DBA corresponds to the validation of 180 ECTS.
Seminars and group work will be organized on a monthly basis. Workshops and individualized modules will be offered in several time slots (morning, noon, afternoon, evening)
